My husband is a gaming freak on our computer. It real frustrates me when he won’t get off the computer game and help me with the housework and the kids. We had to make a schedule on how much time he could spend on the computer or our marriage was over. Even when he isn’t on the computer he has his friends over and all they talk about is the computer games. Last week my husband asked one of his friends, “how do I fix my graphics card“? This week while paying bills I noticed a new charge from Best Buy. This was not a little charge. The charge was for 1900. Now we are on a strict budget. This was not a good thing. I wondered why my husband left with his friends when I told him I was paying bills. How stupid does he think I am? I put my arm down on the envelope and felt something extra in it. It was a necklace from Kay’s jewelry. It was beautiful. The pendent in the middle had a diamond and two rubies on the side. Now I saw this necklace last month while we were out shopping. I fell in love with it. I knew we could not afford the necklace on our budget. Now I am even more angry and confused about my husband. Now we are way over a budget. Under the Best Buy envelope was a state tax form from the lottery board. To my surprised my husband had won $10,000. I heard laughter from the outside window. He hadn’t left with his friends. He explained that to play his game he needed a better computer with a better graphics card. There was no fixing the graphics on our 1998 computer.

If you are on the Fat Loss 4 Idiots weight loss plan then you know that they recommend getting at least a little exercise while following the plan. But is walking one of the ways that can help accelerate your weight loss program?

My question is why wouldn’t it help? Any time you get out and exercise, no matter what kind of exercise it is, it is going to be good for you. I happen to love walking. I’m not one for going to the gym and lifting weights and all of that. Rather, I enjoy 30 minutes walks and getting the fresh air.

This not only helps you to lose weight, but it also comes with the benefit of clearing your mind. When you are out walking your mind is not at the office. You’re not on the phone or in a meeting. You’re not in your car in rush hour traffic. It relieves the stress of the day. So for me, I would highly recommend walking to anyone who wants to lose a few extra pounds and clear their mind as well.

LED Tubes are lighting products that became commercially available in the last two years. As any new technology, they are in process of evolving and improving. Not all LED Tube Lights on the market are of good quality. Here we will briefly describe them so you can make a better choice when buying them.

LED Tubes are designed to replace the widely used fluorescent tubes T8 and T12 sizes. As such, they have similar sizes and end caps with 2 pins. Starting from there, the caps can be metal or plastic. We prefer the plastic ones because they are safer from risk of electric shock.

The LED Tubes contain Light-Emitting Diodes soldered on a PCB, driver that can be external or internal, and metal heat sink to cool the LEDs.

The LED chips can be SMD (Surface Mounted Diodes) or DIP (Dual In-line Package). Although both kinds do the same job at the end, the DIP models tend to be less expensive and slightly less bright. Manufacturers of SMD type tubes claim better heat management and therefore longer life. Our observations find no significant difference as long as heat removing paste is properly applied between the PCB and the metal radiator.

The weakest point in the LED Tube Lights, by our opinion, is the driver. The driver regulates the voltage and current and is a very important part in the Solid State Light Engine called LED Tube. Most of the time a burned driver means discarding of the whole apparatus, especially if it is internal.

The color temperature may vary anywhere from 2,700K to 7,000K. Most used is the Daylight White 5,500-6,000 (Cool White) color, which looks like the fluorescent light. Available are models in Soft White 2,800 to 3,000K (Warm White) and around 4,000K (Neutral White).

Most widespread are LED Light Tubes operating on 120 VAC. Models on 12V DC and 277 Volt AC are available too. Sizes vary from 2 to 8 feet, with 4 feet being the most used.

An outdoor bed is not hard to make. You don’t have to have an expensive sleeping bag. A canvas or poncho spread on the ground with a comforter for a mattress and plenty of blankets pinned on can be quite comfortable. Make little hollows in the dirt for your shoulders and hips. The ground is colder and damper than the air, so when you sleep outdoors you need more protection underneath than on top! Be sure the ground is smooth. Nothing is quite so annoying as a pebble in the middle of your back at three o’clock in the morning. If you expect to sleep out often, make a bag of ticking or heavy muslin and fill it with corn husks, dry leaves or straw for a mattress. When you’ve learned all the skills of back-yard camping, you will know how to live outdoors. Bring some beef jerky for protein and extra nourishment.

The original Notepod has been around for some time now, it’s a notebook that looks just like an iPhone, obviously lacking some of the features, but a bit cheaper at only $17.95 for a pack of three pads, including shipping to anywhere in the world from Australia, unless of course you got your iPhone for free from freebiejeebies. Each page has the image of an iPhone which takes up a lot of the note taking space, but on the back it has a full grid page so you can make maximum use of your notes.

The same company has now released a bigger version to celebrate the release of the iPad, although officially it’s a coin incidence to keep the lawyers quiet. The new version, being called Notepod+, is much larger than the original and comes with 100 sheets. Of course it’s at a slightly higher price at $19.95 including shipping but it is a much larger pad.

Originally used by the Chinese as a weapon for warfare, the Kongming Lantern as it was formerly called is a favorite in many Chinese and other Asian Festivities. The sky lanterns are airborne paper lanterns constructed from oiled rice paper on a bamboo frame and contain a small candle or fuel cell composed of a waxy flammable materials. Nobody would have much complaint with an employer blocking Facebook from his internet feed because his workers were spending half their working day using it. Some of the social networking sites are incredibly addictive and it’s easy to spend much longer than you intended using them. More and more firms are having to spend time and resources on introducing such measures.

The problem is that many instigate the technology without looking at the broader picture. If you start blocking hundreds of web sites, you will begin to block legitimate resources that people actually use to do their job. Also as soon as people feel it’s a – them versus us situation, another step soon follows. A few technical minded employees will begin to look for methods to beat internet filtering, and depending on their skill it won’t take them long. Soon that knowledge will spread and your technical blocks will have less and less effect.

The solution is actually best to engage with your staff, implement a flexible internet usage policy that all staff read. Allow them to use websites in their lunch hours and after work, as long as they don’t cause network problems be grown up about it. Don’t block internet sites but ensure they are aware that internet use is logged and monitored. Nobody is going to be stupid enough to spend hours on websites knowing their managers have access to these logs.

If you treat your employees fairly and like grown ups, the majority will use the internet responsibly. A little communication will allow them to chat with their friends in their breaks without the need to have sites like facebook blocked. Keep the Internet policy up to date, make all new staff members read and understand it before they are given a network account. Too often use of the internet at work is a huge grey area policed by an IT department who don’t really want the job!

We all know you can walk into your local cellular store and pick up a free phone, but can you get a free iphone 4g? No way! Not a chance.

Why do companies offer free phones?

Well the main reason is to get you as a customer and hook you into a 2 year contract. They basically give you the phone so that you will spend boatloads of money on your service over the next 2 years.

Don’t even think about trying to get out of that contract. They will hammer you with upwards of $300 for terminating early.

Most of the carriers today require a 2 year contract anyways so you might as well take advantage and get one of their free phones so you don’t get taken to the cleaners there either.

Maybe someday, the carrier will change the way they operate but until then take advantage of the free phones while they take advantage of you for the next 2 years.
